Expectations
Individuals will:
- Take ownership of their learning
- Create blog entries that are an open forum of discussion for ideas
- Create at least 1 blog entry per week based off an article of the students choosing
- Comment 5 times per week to other blogs and record in Google Spreadsheet
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of collaboration and a collective "think tank"
- Utilize internet resources appropriately - data collection/distribution, links, comments, aesthetics
- Sign up for Web 2.0 tools when necessary
- Give a final reflection over what you have "learned"
- Create a unique "look and feel" to the blog - not to distract from content and analysis
- Invite professionals in the "real world" to comment and join the blog discussions
- Utilize at least 2 outside Web 2.0 tools (other than the blog itself and GoogleDocs) to collaborate and share ideas
- Provide a comfortable atmosphere to explore ideas
- Provide a functional website for each group
- Provide scheduled group or one-on-one consultations
- Shift the teacher role to a consultant role allowing the kids to become the educators
- Carefully read/review all submissions and links
- Assist with technical aspects of the project
- Provide class time and computers to complete these expectations
